halloween and first hike...

This was a big week with baby's first Halloween and her first hike. For Halloween, our good friend Shirley sent us a costume for Rory to wear.

And here she is in her 'baby's first Halloween' outfit from Tiffany, our neighbor down the street. She had gotten it for her little girl, but it was too small for her. Fortunately it still fit Rory although not for very long...

On Saturday we went for Rory's first hike at Devil's Den State Park. Rory and Daddy went caving, and posed in front of the downstream side of the Dam on Lee Creek. We were just going to wander around the park when we ran into some other friends and got to hike with them. It was a wonderful surprise and great to spend part of the day with them.

She enjoyed being in the Moby wrap hiking around with Mommy and enjoying the beautiful fall colors with Grandma and friends. She even got a quick snack up by the cave before we headed back down to the car. Nothing beats breastfeeding in the woods in the fall when the leaves are changing. We couldn't have picked a better time of year to have her join our family.
