Happy New Year!

Sorry it's been so long since we've put up a post...but we hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are having a great new year.

Rory had a great time visiting friends and family over Christmas. Before we headed out, we took some holiday pictures of her in a dress from Grams. She was tired by the time we got her all dressed up and ended up sleeping on the job but looked beautiful doing it.

We got some snow when we first got to Ohio when we were visiting Chad's family, but it turned out to be a warm kind of wet visit overall. No white Christmas this year. Rory was great in the car but when she wanted to eat, she wanted to eat - exit or no exit. That and she extended her night owl tendencies into our entire visit to Ohio keeping Daddy up until around 3:00am eastern time every night. Then she'd proceed to sleep in until as late as 1:30pm. It's like she's practicing for staying up late studying already.

She was especially good on the car trip back to Fayetteville. We actually had to wake her up when we'd stop to eat or when we stopped for the night. Overall I'd say our trip was a success. We'll see how she does in the car as she goes from a sleepy baby to an active toddler.

We were excited that Rory got to meet her Great-grandma (otherwise known as GG) and we got a four-generations picture while we were visiting.

Rory is smiling and cooing more each day and is officially 12 weeks old. She is really getting into grabbing things and putting them in her mouth...and proceeding to slobber all over them. She's growing bigger and getting stronger too. Our best guess is that she's about 15 pounds now, but possibly more. She's getting plenty of tummy-time (that's for you, Dan) and doing pretty well picking her head up.

We're really loving all the time we're getting with our sweet baby and loving watching her change and grow and discover more about the world around her. Thanks to everyone for the adorable clothes, Christmas ornaments and toys for Rory. We're planning on getting all the mileage and enjoyment out of them we can over the years.

Unfortunately we weren't able to see everyone while we were on our whirlwind trip to Ohio. Our drive through of Columbus was especially short but we promise to catch up with all of our Columbus friends soon. We're hoping to head north again in July...or you can all join us down here for the Wakarusa Music Festival (http://www.wakarusa.com/) that was recently moved to Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, AR and is now only about an hour away from our house. It will be a lot of fun and Rory's first real concert event since we saw the Allman Brothers about three weeks before she was born.
