summer...

It has been quite a summer here...one of the hottest on record. We've been trying to keep cool at the pool, in the pool in our yard, and in the AC. Our garden is growing although we're dealing with an all new set of pests this year. I guess our success last year attracted them back. It's been a learning experience for sure, but we have had tomoatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, butternut squash, herbs, Thai peppers and cantaloupe. In the meantime, Rory has been enjoying eating watermelon (and the ensuing mess).

Last weekend, Rory was in her first wedding as a flower girl. She did an awesome job walking down the aisle with her basket from me to daddy. It was a really warm outdoor wedding in August in Arkansas, but it was beautiful and a lot of fun. Rory fell asleep with Daddy dancing on the dance floor so we really wore her out.

We hope you all are staying cool this summer and look forward to hearing from everyone when they have a chance. There's not much else to do in this hot weather, right?
