guess who's five...

What else can we say? Our sweet little girl is now five years old. Sweet, amazing, tough, strong, kind, smart...the list goes on and on. Here are a few (ok, maybe more than a few) photos to celebrate this momentous occasion...

First, some photos from picture day. This was her first official one since it's her first year in pre-K. We'll see how they turn out. That's always the adventure isn't it?

And here are some birthday photos. She had school all day, then we went to dinner at Pesto Cafe, and I made her this "flower cake" as requested, for her birthday.

Who can resist a sneak-preview of Halloween costumes? Rory wanted to be the ware rabbit for Halloween and has been asking for months. (Google Wallace & Grommit: Attack of the Were Rabbit if you're curious...) So I obliged and made her one.

And off to Harvest Fest...we celebrated Rory's second and third birthdays at Harvest Fest and were happy to make it back this year. It was a little muddy and rained most of the day on Friday, but we were prepared and had good friends for company...

And when it's muddy, what better to make than mud pies?

Rory's first pinata...

A few adults took a whack since this was the best-made pinata this side of the Mississippi, and then the big guns (a small log for the fire) were brought in. I think the big kids enjoyed this almost as much as she did.

Sending the pinata off in a respectful manner...

And releasing the ceremonial birthday lantern...blue since it's her favorite color.

Then off to the fall festival at Rory's school. One somewhat overpriced (even though I know it's a fundraiser) arm band and off we went. Dressed and ready to go. Everyone assumed that she was a boy since there was no bow, but since the were rabbit is a boy, it was fine with her.

Getting some facepaint...

Now the costume is complete...

A few more photos to wrap up...

Rory's most recent lump...from running into the corner of the wall in the hallway...not really sure how it happened, but she seemed to come out of it ok.

Playing with her new mitt and ball from Uncle Scott and Aunt Liz. What a great gift! If only I could find my glove...hmmmmmm

Happy fall and almost Halloween. Still need to get pumpkins to carve and do some trick or treating if the weather cooperates. This might be our first year really going out to hit up houses. Maybe even in the historical district of Fayetteville, well-known for the awesome trick or treat opportunities. If nothing else, there will be more photos to come of the official holiday even though you've already had a sneak peak.
